Verification is verifying the documents like business
requirements documents, test plans, test scenarios, test
cases. Where as validation is actual testing the
application.
Verification comes first and then later validation.
Example of this would be V model in SDLC. In a V model
left hand side is verification and right hand side is
validation.
In V model, the left hand side has Requirements analysis,
design analysis, coding, testing and maintaining the
application. The right hand side has unit testing,
integration testing and acceptance testing.
