Test Process, Automation test approach, Entry and Exit
Criteria for each test level and test type, Test Data
Management Processes, Key Performance Indicators, Test
Process Improvement, Training Program
The strategic approach to testing that shall be carried out
by testing team.
As Example:
TEST EXECUTION:
Objective
The objective of this process area is to execute the tests
in line with test execution schedule captured in test plan.
Incidents (defects) are recorded and managed to closure. Re-
test and regression approaches are followed to ensure work
product quality. The test team executes the designed test
cases/scripts until they execute without errors or a
predefined condition is reached.
Entry Criteria:
- Test design phase is complete and test case baseline is
available
- Development testing is complete and Development test
report made available
- All Development test defects are closed
- Build (code components) is promoted to testing environment
- Integration test execution plan is finalized
Exit Criteria:
- Expected test coverage is achieved
- All test cases are executed successfully and Identified
product risks are mitigated
- All defects identified are closed and required work
product quality is achieved
Deliverables:
- Test Report
- Tested Application
------------------------------------------------------
Test Policy: which is intended to be used by all
stakeholders of testing to understand the strategic
approach to testing and how the stakeholders can use the
testing services to improve the quality of the application
under maintenance and development.
As example:
- Acceptance and Approval Processes
* Build Acceptance
> Satisfactory completion of development tests
> Availability of development tests, test results,
defect report to review
> Development tests and results are available in the
test tool
>Demonstration of changes where possible like user
