what is static excitation and dynamic excitation of
synchronous generator, scr excitation is a brush or
brushless excitation?
Answer Posted / elec_maint
Both static and dynamic exciters, may use solid devices as
AC/DC converters. The key difference is that static type
feeding the field winding (F.W) via brushes, but in the
dynamic one the solid state converter is rotating with the
F.W, and the supply to the converter is induced from
external excitation stator windings.

ASTM D 3455 - Standard Test Methods for Compatibility of Construction Material with Electrical Insulating Oil of Petroleum Origin has been used for Testing Transformer Oils with a product placed in it. Aged Control Oil has a Power Factor of 0.032% at 100°C. Aged Oil with a Test component has a Power Factor of 0.093% at 100°. Is this increase acceptable? If not why? How much increase is acceptable?

I'm generating a pulse of 3V with frequency 80Hz (12.5ms time period) and pulse duration 0.125ms and feeding it to a transformer since i want the pulse to get amplified around 60V. At the output amplification s happening but the pulse is changed to a spike, can you tell me what could be the reason? (an ordinary transformer 220V-12V stepdown transformer is reverse connected ie. now it is 12V-220V stepup and voltage amplification happens)
