what are the effects of variations in frequency when you are
connected to national grid??
Answer Posted / ramasamyseenu
do the variation in frequency the power factor differs and as a result the electrical machines which is connected consumes more reactive power rather than real power and other problem is that the power factor of the machine differs and as result the variation between the voltage and current becomes worse.
Due to the consumption of the reactive power the power unit which are producing this type of frequency unit has to pay the fine. There is also a possibility of operation of motor as the frequency is greater than rated frequency in the next power unit connected to the grid
