It is armoured.to arm is to protect against harm. So
armoured cable is cable with some kind of protection like
steel wire, copper tape, lead covered, pvc, xlpe, or steel
conduit or some other type.In unarmoured cables it is
unprotected cables other than electrical insulation.Than the
user decides to provide the necessary mechanical protection
as necessary.
