why our indian system choose the 230 volt for single
phase&415 for 3-phase voltage,in forign side 110 volt is
used what is the difference
Answer Posted / muhammad ashraf
In forign countries, they use 200V in three phae at 60 HZ
and according to the principal of electrical theory in star
connection phase voltages are under root 3 time less then
line voltages, and for domestic control we use star
connection, this the reason that in India and Pakistan we
use 415V three phase supply and according to the formula
single phase voltages will be 230, and according to this
standard our home appliances are design at 230 volts. And
forigner use 200V three phase supply And according to the
formula thier single phase voltages are 110V. And thier
design of home applinces are 110V.
