what is the difference between stress and pressure?. what
is the difference between moment and torque?
Answer Posted / pubba
stress is the resisting force(R) developed per unit area(A)
inside any member when it is subjected to external force(F).
So,
stress=resisting force(R)/cross-sectional area of the
member(A)
But Pressure is the applied force(F)acting up on unit
area(A) of any member.
So,
Pressure=Applied force(F)/unit area(A).
