Why insulation layer of a High Voltage cable is more than a
current carrying cable?
Answer Posted / satheesh kumar
In all cables insulation is important.since the voltage is
the factor which is produce current in a
system.i.e.=V/R=I.So to avoid heavy leakage current(when the
system is having insulation in MOhms)R must be
important.i.e.insulation.When ever the leakage current
becomes heavy it is called short circuit and due to failure
of insulation. So Voltage is the factor to be considered for
protection of cables or any other equipment for safety.thus
insulation in more in high volatge cables.
