subcooling and super heating are used as a view to increase
the COP of refrigertaion.Subcooling is used to extract the
sensible heat from the saturated liquied to ensure that
that the refrigerant is not having any partial vapour
pressure in that.So now only saturated liquid is allowed to
expand inside the expansion valve.as a result of this COP
increases
