WHAT IS THE DIFF BETWEEN FREQUENCY AND INTENSITY?HOW IT
WORKS IN FLAME SCANNER ?
Answer Posted / palaniappan balagurusamy
Flame scanners detect the UV or IR waves generated from the
hydrocarbon combustion. Visible type flame scanners are
also available.
Each type of hydrocarbon give out different frequencies of
UV / IR / visible spectrum.
Intensity component of the flame in a flame scanner is
detected to show the operator how intense the flame is.
The frequency of the flame is detected to discriminate
between different hydrocarbon flames. For example in an
boiler combustion flame scanner using oil and coal in
different elevtions, this facility will be useful. The
flame scanner in one elevation buring oil will not sense
the flame of the other elevation burning coal.
