EC means A group that consists of a set of inputs & every element in the group produces a same output.
A tester will understand the business rules then he asses all possible data & this data can be divided into EC. While dividing the data make sure that every element in a group produces same output. So, that all elements that belongs a group will have the equal amount of priority for testing a feature. So we know need to test with all inputs. One input from every group is sufficient for testing.
