Tube light need
nearly above
1000v across
the two end
terminals .but
our supply
voltage is only
230 v.so we
need to step up
the
voltage.this
step up of
voltage is done
by the choke by
the process
called
selfinduction
and this
selfinduction
to happen
startor help
the choke.
