What is the difference between Split ring and slip ring?
Answer Posted / shyamkr
in case of dc machines we use split ring where a complte
ring is splitted,in the number equal to the number of coils.
whereas slip ring is used in the case of ac machines in
where there is no need of converting ac to dc.
in short this split ring is used as mechanical converter in
case of dc machines.
