How do you detect starting valve leaks?

Answer Posted / anonymous

if u have to detect leakage of a starting air valve of a
particular unit in a stopped engine then firstly close the
indicator cocks of all units and open the main starting air
valve (make sure turning gear is disengaged while doing so).
then start opening the indicator cocks one by one and feel
with hand..the unit which has a leaky air valve will have
some air pressure at the indicator cock....for running
engines u have to monitor the parameters such as scavenge
temp, exhaust temp...
