What is the value of binary no 101101 in octal no.?

Answer Posted / salhashakir

now binary number is
101101
Now, divide it up into groups of three, starting at the
right
101 101
Now, this is similar to Binary to Hexadecimal. For each
group of three characters,
101 101
421 421
Now multiply the top by the bottom for each digit
we get 101 101
421 421
401 401
adding together the groups of three numbers:
401 401
4+0+1 4+0+1
ie, 5 5
answer is 55
