what is rated current and operating current?

Answer Posted / vamshi kulkarni

In a motor rated current means the value of current when
rated specfied voltage and specified power is applied to
that (i.e., 100% loaded condition).. And operating current
means the value of current which is at specified voltage but
at a different(less) power rating which depends upon the
load torque.
