Why we use Capacitor in Single
Phase Induction Motor?
Answer Posted / durai
To produce a rotating magnetic field we need at least two
phases.with single phase u cannot produce rotation.
So at the time of starting capacitor(starting winding) used
as a second phase to produce field
After that fan will rotate with main winding only
