why voltage swells and dips in transmission line?

Answer Posted / k.prakashchandra

whenever a large load in the network is removed suddenly
there will be a swell in voltage due to reduction of IZ
drop.Rarely lightning strokes are also responsible for
this. And whenever there is a fault in the line ,it will
cause dip in voltage momentarily.
