In a 3 pin plug holder, what is the purpose of diameter of
ground pin is larger than phase and nutral pin
Answer Posted / simi
Resistance has to be low in order to enable more amount of
current to flow through it.
As the formula suggests, R=ρ*length/area.
hence to have low resistance, length has to be decreased
and area has to be decreased.
Ground pin has to carry the fault currents, which is very
high and thus provide the least resistance path to it.
hence it is larger as compared to phase and neutral.
