Why Trasformers rated in KVA
Answer Posted / arvind arora
ratings are depand upon heating.in transformer heating is
due to coreloss whitch is depands on voltage and copper
loss whitch is depands on currrent.losses do not depands on
pf. for example a x'mer working on rated voltage and rated
current with load pf equals to zero has rated losses and
rated kva output.so thats why its rating is in kva.
