in power plant which pump is used for feeding the water
a) centrifugal pump or
b) reciprocating pump
and why?
Answer Posted / magesh
All who said as Centrifugal Pump, just cheer up guys.
Centrifugal Pump is always used in Boiler feed pumps.
Because with the usage of centrifugal pump, we can get a
constant pressure with varying flow.
This must be well understood. Because at different load
conditions( if coal input is lesser at some times) then the
feed water input must also be decreased, so centrifugal
pumps are used. With the use of Centrifugal pumps we can
vary the flow. But we can keep the constant pressure.
