what is the relationship between induction motor and
transformers?
Answer Posted / yogesh raste
The Induction motor and the transformer basically works on
the same principle of electromagnetic induction, however
transformer is static electrical machine in which the power
is transfered from one circuit to another circuit keeping
the frequency constant. In case of induction motor its an
rotating transformer in which the frequency of stator is
the supply frequency(F) however the rotor frequency is not
same as that of stator frequency and it is slip times the
stator frequency(f').
f'= slip times(s)x stator frequency(F).
