Ideally every manual tester should have sound knowledge of
databases. Tester should able to write medium to complex
SQL queries to verify the data against database and
application. He/She should able to understand the database
ER diagram, relationship between different tables and
should able to write the SQL queries by using them.
Gone are the days of pure manual testing. Now we see a
saturation in testing. Companies are looking for people who
are having wide range of skills and not merely manual
testing.
If you have a certification in Oracle/SQL, that will be
surely counted.
