1) What is the compressive strength of concrete
2) What is the tensile strength of steel
3) Why cracks are happening in walls
Answer Posted / sjtbehera
1) Copmressive strength means what is the load take by
concerete in compressive zone. According to our IS
Standarad in m20 grade concrete it takes 13.5n/sqmm in 7
days and 15 n/sqmm in 28 days. this test is carried out by
compressive test machine. it is usally consist of 150cmsq
cube.
2) Tensile strength means strength at tension zone. i think
you can understand what is tension zone and what is
compression zone.20mm bar can take 2300kg/cmsq in tension
zone
3) cracks are diffrent type. Whather it is surface crack or
deep crack. surface crack is happening where cement use
high then their ratio. deep crack happening in where wall
are bend due to load.
