In any organisations the smoke test is done by developers
so it is nothing but after development of a s/w the
developers are going to check the applicatio(s/w) whether
it is suitable for detail testing or not is called smoke
testing.

where as coming to sanity testing it is done by TE to
check whether it is suitable for detail testing or not is
called.


the differeence is that the same testing by
developer is called smoke n the same testing done by test
engi.. is sanity testing.
