FIRST WE SHOULD KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FUEL REGULATION
AND OVER SPEED.
THE ENGINE ACTUATOR OR FUEL CONTROL REGULATOR IS THE ONE
LOOKS AFTER
THE FUEL FLOW DEPENDING ON THE REQUIRED LOAD
CONDITIONS/FLUCTUATIONS AND PROVIDE FUEL ACCORDINGLY TO
MAINTAIN STEADY SPEED/ R P M.
THE "WATT' GOVERNOR IS A MECHANICAL PROTECTION DEVICE IN CASE
THE ENGINE IS SUBJECTED TO SUDDEN OVER SPEED/ABNORMAL R P M
THEN BY CENTRIFUGAL FORCE THE COUNTER WEIGHTS EXPAND WHILE
ROTATING AND HIT THE TRIP LEVER TO SHUT OFF IN COMING FUEL
THERE BY PROTECTING THE ENGINE FROM DISASTER.
