Is there any difference between circuit breakers and
isolators
Answer Posted / jothiprakash.t
Circuit breaker is a device which can close or open a
circuit under normal conditions and automatically open a
circuit under abnormal conditions with the help of
protective relays.
Isolator is nothing but a switch which can be
operated at no-load conditions.
While making a circuit, first close isolator and then close
circuit breaker.
While breaking a circuit, first open circuit breaker and
then open isolator.
