what is the weight of 8mm dia steel with 1 meter length.
Is there any formula to calculate the weight for any given
diameter

Answer Posted / neelam

The standard formula for calculating the weight of a steel
rod of any Diameter in Kg/m is [(D^2)/(162.162)].

Where; D is diameter of Rod

To calculate the weight of 8 mm dia bar of 1 meter length.

={(D^2)/(162.162)} x L (Length of bar)
={(8^2)/(162.162)} x 1
={(64)/(162.162)} x 1
={0.395 * 1}
=0.395 kg

Similarly calculate the weight of bar of any Diameter.
