One ToR is defined as heat removed from 1000 kg of ice in 24 hours.
As we know that heat dissipated is given as
Q= (mass X Heat of fusion)/time
for Ice heat of fusion = 336 kj /kg
therefore,
Q = 1000 X 336/24
= 14000 kj/hr
= 14000/3600 kj/sec
= 3.9 Kw
