what will you do if you dont get this job

Friends,
This question is very sensitive and is a tricky one. Sometimes the companies throw such questions to judge your way of responsiveness to a situation where in you are being targeted with negative feedbacks under various circumstances. Not necessarily its only asked when the recruiter wants to say NO to you as a candidate to the profile you are being interviewed. So be very calm and positive when such question comes to you. Never ever try to say a company that "You will look for other options...", or "You think you are lacking in some areas and will work upon..." as this may give a negative impression to the interviewer about you. Whereas I personally would suggest you better ask this to the recruiter in such cases "I applied for this profile after going through the job description in details and believed to be a deserving candidate for it. But it seems that there must be something which I might have missed to update you during our course of interaction. Hence I would request you to please let me know if there was any specific skills or qualities that you were looking in a candidate, so that I can put more light over it if I think I have missed." And then leave the ball in the recruiter;s court. Let them answer this and if they were just testing your skills...I can say you are through but if they come up with any specific requirement, please check within yourself if you have it, answer it...otherwise, you can simply ask for some time to inculcate those in you and re-appear for the interview after some time.
NOTE: Never be rude, hard or over confident while answering such type of question.
