PLC is an advanced version of Logic cards.Logic cards were
devoloped to replace the crude and hard wired Relay Logic.
Logic control cards have Integrated Circuits on PCBs.But
the major drawback in Logic control cards is dedicated
circuits and non programmability on the shop floor.PLC
redefined the whole control story by providing facility of
On-Site programming and a graphical programming environment
which even a layman can understand. Also PLCs can be
connected to a Microcomputer to generate reports and
maintain database.
