how to calculate tds on labour charge

Answer Posted / alkesh

tds on labour can be treated as tds on contract.
n if amount of the labour paid to party is more than rs
50000 in a year or 20000 in a one bill then TDS will be
deducted while making payment to party.

suppose labour charges paid rs 150000 then TDS on the same
amount will be 150000*2% = 3000
(w.e.f 1-10-2009 SEC and HSEC removed )
(10% surcharge if applicable)
