Why fuse is? What will prevent by fuse?

Answer Posted / desingurajan ramco cements...

Fuse not having low melting point..... it is always having small thickness when compare to wherever it is connecting in the conductor.... CURRENT MEANS FLOW OF ELECTRONS...... when any faults occurs (like, short circuit..etc) more electrons flow through the fuse compare to normal running condition. that time more electrons not able to flow through the small area(ie fuse). at the time fuse will be over heated. and it will melt. and proper fuse wire having aprox 800C. melting speed is based upon the fault level......
