what happens if number of poles in stator and rotor windins
of slip ring induction motor are not same. Will it rotate
near to the synchronus speed defined by stator?
Answer Posted / guru
The Speed of the SLIP RING Induction motor is defined by
its no. of poles available in the Stator only. The rotor
windings are used to avoid a high starting current(Like in
Squirrel Cage Induction Motor) ( Thats why rotor resistance
starter are used in SLIP RING INDUCTION motors and also to
increase the torque.
