OPTICAL PYROMETER is temperature measuring device used to
measure high temp where physical contact is not possible with
a surface.
the optical pyrometer compares the brightness of the image
produced by the temp source with that of the reference temp
lamp. the current in the lamp is adjusted until the brightness
of the lamp is equal to the brightness of the image produced
by the temp source. Since the intensity of the lamp of any
wave length depends on the temp of the radiating object, the
current passing through lamp becomes a measure of the temp of
the temp source when calibrated.
