Transformer is an inductive coil.Emf induced in the primary
side of transformer is due to self induction
and in the secondary due to mutual induction.
In dc their is no induction because absence of frequncy. So
transformer is not working in dc.Unless dc supply is
pulsating or switching

armature winding of dc machine produce alternating emf then it convert in to dc by using commutator.But only we consider armature resistance why don't we consider inductive reactane effect?
