A process states can be classified as :
Two-state model:
Ready and Running
Five-state model:
New, Ready, Running, Blocked/Waiting, Terminated
Seven-state model:
New, Ready, Running, Blocked, Blocked Suspended, Ready
Suspended, Terminated
Note: Unix uses 9 states ..
