As everyone cited, recession has hit hard on freshers as well. Even during recession, employers do look for freshers. The best formula for success in interview and landing in a job is to show case your Knowledge (theory - what is taught in your classrooms), Skills (how you would apply theory in real job scenarios), Attitude (willingness to do take responsibility for any task even if it is as mundane as data entry and willingness to learn).
