why the tapping of transformer on ht side??????

Answer Posted / swayanjit ray

generally tappings are provided on the HV side because on
the HV side of the transformer less current is flowing so
that whenever we change from one tapping to another less arc
will created as compared to LV side. again we can achieve
the better voltage control by providing tapping on the HV side.
