1. Once user report the defect with status as New
2. Business expert will analyze the defect and accepts its
a defect then it comes to Assigned State
3.Assigned user will analyze the defect he is able to
reproduce then he will try to fix and change the status as
Fixed. suppose he is unable to reproduce then developer
will assign status as Clarification Required.
4. Suppose bug state as clarification required then tester
needs to give more information regarding this defect.
5. Suppose defect status as Fixed then Dev manager will
check the code and changed the status as Fix Verified and
assign back to Testing Team means testers (who raised the
defect)
6. Once release the new build then testers will test the
application, suppose application is working fine then
tester will close the defect. Status as Closed.
7. Still user is getting the same defect in new build
status as : Fix Rejected.
what ever steps mentioned above wil vary company to company
or defect tracking tool to tool. But the entire defect life
cycle is the same but status will change.
