What is meant by transformer, why it should be used, with
out that equipment what happens if we transformed the
supply?
Answer Posted / thiyagarajan
Transformer is a static device to transver power from one
range to another range without any change of freuency.
while generating power they are producing 11kv and then
they used to transmitt upto 400kv through transmission
lines without transformers we cant change the voltage
levels when were are transmitting without any change of
voltage levels losses will be very high higher the voltage
lesser the current IRsquare losses will be less low voltage
transmission and high current means losses will be high
trhats what we are in need of transformers
