An auto trnsformer with only one winding wound on a
laminated core. A part of this winding is common to
both primary and secondary side .
in an ordinary transformer,the primary and secondary
winding are electricallyfrom each other but connected
magnetically.
In an auto transformer the primary andsecondary wind-
ing are connected magnetically and electrically.

Practical condition in 400KV Sub station:- Breaker(open) , isolator(open), Earthing (close) at both end e.g A & B.
