What is GNR ? How much value of ground neutral resistance?
Answer Posted / avdhesh
It is neutral grounding resister.
Purpose : To limit fault current during eatrh fault.
Advantage : Earth Fault current will be less hence less
damages at fault location. Example - core damage in the
motors.
Value of NGR : It will depend how much earth fault current
you want to limit. Secondly on the earth fault relay
sensetivity. Generaly 8-9 Ohm resistace is used in HT
system where HT motors are used.
