what is the difference between UPS & Inverter
Answer Posted / quacker
UPS basically is an Inverter since they have the same
principles. However, UPS tends to be a power supply back-up
system because there is a battery system that is used as
back-up power when normal power supply is n/a. In addition,
an Inverter function on a UPS works when UPS is off-line,
means there is no charging activity to the battery. Beyond
that (online) it's only a general power supply with double
works as battery charger as well.
The Inverter isn't always a UPS, because sometimes inverter
is used as continuous system that always on (inverting
function running) and there might be no battery as well. So
it tends to be an internal part of electrical system that
hopefully works for inverting Direct Current at all times.
