If the load of transformer is getting more than its
rating,,,than how to overcome this problem? Suppose thee
rating of transformer is 315kva and the load is going
beyond than the rating say around load: 352kva...
Than how can we solve this problem without deducting the
load.

Answer Posted / v sridhar

in my view, whenever the load of a transformer is increased
there is a corresponding increase in its current as in our
case load is surpassing the rated value of the transformer
the current too will surpass the rated value causing the
load losses to increase beyond permiisible value causing
excessive heating of the coils, etc if this heat is not
dissipated quickly only then the problem of burning of
coils will arise, if by means of forced cooling etc we are
able to disssipate heat faster then the problem can be
solved to certain extent atleast the coils won't get burn.
Although the efficiency will go down as pointed out by
previous posts. Because in rural parts of india overloading
of distriution transformers is a very common phenomena...

What is the need of earthing transformer for delta side of a transformer. (Think of a line section between a star/delta transformer at a grid substation and delta/star transformer at a village. An earthing transformer is there at the delta side of the star/delta transformer at grid substation). As there are no ground reference there will not be fault current if a one phase is grounded. Further L-L phase will be sensed by the primary side of star/delta transformer as a L-G fault. So why an earthing transformer is required at delta side
