how a centrifugal pump is working?

centrifugal pump is based on bernoulli's theorem. first the
mechanical energy given by the shaft is transferred to the
impeller which impart the kinetic energy to the fluid and
stationary volute help the increase cross sectional area
that converts kinetic energy to the potential energy.
