how to diffrentiate between ac & dc motors from a distance

Guys,
We can just judge the DC and AC Motors by looking on the
surface of the motor body ,if you find any capacitor on or
beside the body, then it is AC motor,if the motor is single
phase,
But, in three phase you can know by checking its three
phase connections at the terminal box there are three or
four wires in AC motor, while DC motor have two wires.
