Can anybody tell me why inductors draw lagging current and
capacitors draw leading current from supply?

inductor is working with lagging power factor. and the
capacitor is with leading power factor

i have 500 amp inductive load of motors ,,,pleas tell me how can i calculate for capacitor bank for improving my power factor to 99 .....calcullations for capacitor bank,,,,
armature winding of dc machine produce alternating emf then it convert in to dc by using commutator.But only we consider armature resistance why don't we consider inductive reactane effect?
