WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANNEALING,TEMPERING AND
NORMALIZING
Answer Posted / karthick
All are different heat treatment process. In general heat
treatment process is used to impart desired mechanical
properties to materials.Annealing is the process of heating
the material and holding that for some time and then
cooling it in suitable rate(in air).it is used to refine
the grain size,to relieve the internal stresses.Tempering
is the process of heating the hardened material.it is used
to impart toughness.Normalizing is the process of heating
40 deg above recrystallization temp and cooling it in
furnace
