In an ammeter used for measurement of current, what is the
meaning of the representation of range as '0-50-300'?
Answer Posted / praveen kumar s
ABOVE REPRESENTATION SHOWS IT IS AN SUPPRESED SCALE OF
AMMETER
0-50-300A -------> IT MEANS IT MEASURES CURRENT FROM 0-50A
AND 300 INDICATES THAT 6 TIMES OF MAXIMUM CURRENT i.e
50*6=300
AT THE TIME OF SWITCHING CURRENT GREATER THAN THE NORMAL
VALUE
IT IS ABOUT 5-6 TIMES THE NORMAL VALUE
AT STARTING THE NEEDLE IN AMMETER GOES TO 300 AND WITH IN
FRACTION OF SECONDS COMES TO NORMAL VALUE
